Every so often, my teachers Mimmo and Karin have been kind enough to welcome me into their lab, such as from the 6th to the 9th of February this year, between torrential rain and enjoyable hours of work.
Among Mimmo’s varied talents, one of the most valuable is his natural ability to act as an “in-between” among the most interesting people in the pipe world. Thanks to this, I have had the unique opportunity to meet Eder Mathias and Teddy Knudsen.
To watch Eder work is an inimitable experience. What is most impressive is his ability to subdue the tools to his will, and if necessary, create them for specific purposes. However, even more surprising is his humility and his everlasting dissatisfaction with the work that has been done, two typical characteristics of great figures and various artists. If you don’t know his works, you’re missing out on one of the most interesting lines in the evolution of the pipe world. Thanks Eder, keep up the good work.
About Teddy, everything has already been said, so every word would be either mundane or useless flattery to someone who no longer needs it. Therefore I will just post a photo taken at his house in Montalto. However, I can’t not thank him for the excellent wine, the visit to the lab and the viewing of his latest pipes. And thanks to Mette, his partner, for her exquisite kindness.
